Ellison has a soulful voice and  is one of the few remaining soul and blues legends that have made an essential contribution to the development of blues, gospel, soul and funk music in a time of great social change.

At 82, Ellison continues to perform with the energy, enthusiasm and joy of a man half his age. The Carpenter Ants provide the best soulful and rocking and filled with tales of his storied life.
